Child protection conferences and reviews for looked after children need to be held within statutory timescales therefore the full hours are required to cover the full caseload for this post.
Independent Reviewing Officer & Child Protection Conference Chair on to chair review meetings for Looked after Children and Child Protection Conferences.

The post holder will join a busy but supportive and committed team. The successful applicant will play a significant role in the teams operation of ensuring effective safeguarding, alongside promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and young people. 
This role is temporary offering full time hours.

The main purpose of this role is to review cases of children and chair child protection conferences in line with 'Working Together To Safeguard Children' and Local Safeguarding Children Board procedures.
In order to achieve success in this role the primary tasks will include;
Chairing and recording the outcomes of reviews for children who are looked after and to confirm the Care Plan in accordance with legislation and requirements.
Ensure that the reviews are child centred and that any wishes of the child are considered by the appropriate authority.
Liaise with other stakeholders and ensure consultation is carried out to agreed timescales.

Securing this role will means you will act as a source of advice to guide staff within children and young peoples' services on a variety of professionals issues relating to children accommodated away from the home. 
You will also be involved in producing reports and maintaining records in line with agreed procedures to support the reviews.
As a key player in the team you will be involved in making recommendations as to how the service can improve, therefore giving you the opportunity to make a difference.

Specifications

  • HCPC registration
  • MUST have Qualified Social Worker Qualification (Dip, BA, MA etc.)
  • Car driver essential
  • At least five years post qualifying experience in social work.
