Bedford Borough Council are seeking a Front line Child Protection Social Worker for a busy Assessment Team.
The main purpose is to undertake statutory interventions in a specific service area under close supervision and support, that enable children & young people to live in family & community environments that maximise their life chances Initial assessments on CIN and CP cases with the odd EPO/ICO and initial Looked After Child processes.
Complete professional assessments of need and risk in respect of service users and carers using the Department of Health and Bedford Borough Council criteria for children in need and significant harm.
Taking the lead role and responsibility, you co-ordinate the multi agency approach to prevent and address child protection issues and children in need.
Continuously identify and assess risk of harm to children & young people or their communities and ensure that plans are implemented to manage these risks.
Effectively participate and represent the authority in legal proceedings and other decision making forums so that children and young people’s needs are met.
Produce written reports within timescales/deadlines as prescribed by the Authority Effectively manage and remain accountable for a portfolio of cases and other tasks in both routine and crisis situations so that statutory deadlines are met and plans are delivered within available resources.
Research, analyse, evaluate and use current knowledge of best social work practice.
Social Work Qualification (Dip or BA/MA in Social Work)
