Evergood are currently supporting our client based in Buckinghamshire in recruiting for an experienced and Qualified Speech & Language Therapist.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POST
The post holder may be supported in the delivery of a specialist input to a care group consisting of children attending early years and mainstream schools across all settings and key stages, including those who have an EHCP as a result of their complex communication and interaction difficulties. S/he will help to advise on the development of services in this area, have day to day responsibility for co-ordinating a speech and language therapy service to individuals in early years settings and mainstream schools and independently manage the caseloads in these settings. S/he may be involved in the delivery of child centred training.
The post holder will be involved in the provision of early years and school aged assessments on site in settings and Mainstream Schools. The Post holder will be involved in service delivery to children who do not have an EHCP in mainstream settings and in the support of junior colleagues. S/he may be involved in the design and delivery of training packages to settings, schools or school clusters.
S/he will be involved in evidence-based, multi-agency projects to develop SLT services for early years and school age children. The post holder will help to develop resources which could be used to develop both the skills and the confidence of Class Teachers to support children with communication difficulties within early years and mainstream school settings.
S/he will be required:
•To use specialist clinical skills to autonomously manage a specialist caseload of statement children with specific speech and language impairment and/or social communication disorders.
•To provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and appropriate speech and language therapy for this specific caseload.
•To assist in the provision of specialist knowledge to a wide range of professions and agencies within the Buckinghamshire area.
•To undertake specific responsibilities pertaining to the early years and Mainstream Schools caseload as defined and designated by the Operational Managers or Team Leads
•To support the above with the provision of a high quality service.
•To use clinical and specialist clinical skills, working closely with education staff and members of the Communication and Interaction Team of the Specialist Teaching Service.
•To liaise with a wide range of professionals within the educational setting.
