Southend Borough Council and Essex Partnership University Trust are working together to transform the treatment, care and support our residents receive from local specialist mental health services. We want our mental health and social care professionals to be a key part of our approach to meeting wider range of needs more quickly and effectively by integrating some specialist services with primary care and other community services.
We are implementing a transformation programme across the health and social care system in Southend to create person-centred pathways and practice which is enabling, supportive and develops communities to become more resilient. This Southend Borough Council post is crucial to ensuring that staff can deliver person-centred social work assessments and support people to remain as independent as possible, and supporting staff in our specialist community mental health services as they become part of an integrated approach to understanding the needs of people in our four localities and meeting them as close to home as possible.
We are looking for someone who understand this vision but has the knowledge and experience to make it a reality for our residents with mental health needs. You will be supporting team members to act as change agents - to give our services an explicit focus on recovery and help people to build on their strengths, assets and abilities to self-manage. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic social care professionals from either SBC or EPUT to take on this role on secondment from their current post, or for dynamic external applicants to join. The post will initially be fixed term for one year.
This post will provide professional social work support, management and leadership for the mental health social workers in our Borough’s adult community mental health teams. The focus will be on working with staff and senior man.
- HCPC registration
- Qualified Social Worker Qualification (Dip, BA, MA etc.)
- Eligibility to work in the UMinimum of 3 years
- Worked at a senior practitioner level/team manager level with supervisory/managerial responsibility
