We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant General Radiologist with a special interest in Breast Screening to join a dynamic and expanding team in a specialist cancer and support service based at a trust in the North East as soon as possible.
This will likely be an initial 6 month booking but likely to continue to beyond and is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of a department, playing a crucial role in advancing comprehensive radiology services.

Main duties of the job
As a Consultant General Radiologist with a subspecialty interest in Breast Imaging, you will play a key role in strengthening a well-established general radiology and breast imaging services. Your expertise will support both symptomatic and screening programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to exceptional diagnostic and therapeutic services, ranging from routine imaging to complex cases.
In this position, you will undertake and interpret a wide range of imaging studies, including mammography, breast ultrasound, MRI, tomosynthesis, and contrast-enhanced mammography. Your clinical judgement will be essential in the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer, as well as in managing benign breast conditions. You will also provide specialist input at multidisciplinary team meetings, collaborating closely with surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, and breast care nurses to develop comprehensive patient care plans.
